Danielle contacted me last fall to photograph their wedding this September, coming up at Tooth and Nail Winery. We hit it off immediately and I knew we were going to make a great team! As we were discussing her and Eric’s engagement shoot, the conversations and ideas started to stream in all sorts of fun directions!
Danielle and Eric love to cook pizza in their pizza oven on their rooftop deck … I”m sorry, I got that wrong, ERIC likes to cook pizza in their pizza oven on their rooftop deck in Los Angeles, and Danielle likes to drink wine, keep him company and watch him cook the pizza!! haha … and so we had a plan. Danielle contacted Cypher Winery, who graciously allowed us to cook a few mini pizzas in their wood pizza oven and take photos. As we were finishing up a classic little Chevy rolled up, the owners were generous and told us to use it as we liked! Gotta love divine appointment on a Friday night engagement session. Our shoot was filled with jokes, a LOT of laughter and good spirit. I believe the images convey that. Sincerely, I am SO excited for their big day, where the good times will roll!!! Of course, the timeless images will abound, and the wine will flow.
As we proceeded to snap away on some of my favorite country roads in back country Paso Robles, I couldn’t help but to get a little sentimental. These roads feel like home to me. While I didn’t grow up in Paso Robles or on the Central Coast, I’ve been here for 15 years. It’s been my pleasure to meet and become close friends with so many who are multi generation to this magical place. I meander, walk, shoot and ride these roads weekly, and it makes me feel so blessed, and deep down grateful, to call this area home!
Oh, I almost forgot! Danielle and Eric had one of THE BEST proposals I think I’ve seen!!! Check out this video of Eric, creatively popping the big question…..
