Well it’s most certainly the “most wonderful time of the year” around here. The rain has left and the sun is shining, the stocking are stuffed and I’m ready to kick back and hang out with family and friends and await Santa’s visit!
Before I go, I wanted to share the ultimate in Holiday Feasts with you. This year, I had the opportunity to shoot up on the hilltop, the gem of our state parks, in all it’s glory, the Friends of Hearst Castle’s silver anniversary’s Holiday Feast. This event is basically, A M A Z I N G !!!! Mark Padgett does a beautiful job each year of design and decor, with this years theme stemming from the famous movie Dr Zhivago. If you have people in your family who “have it all” this would certainly be an experience that they likely have not had. An evening full of music, food, drinks, incredible surroundings and entertainment, just like the good old days of Mr Randolph himself.
The Friends of Hearst Castle is an incredible organization that raises money to continue restoration and upkeep on the castle. Hearts Castle and its contents are owned by the state of California, and we all know the current state of California, this group sees the extreme value in this awesome asset and chooses to invest the time and energy into raising the money necessary to do the upkeep and restoration. They have 3 events each year, all of which are a once in a lifetime type experiences.
If you appreciate art, history and amazing backdrops, I’d encourage you to check out their website and annual events! As I mentioned earlier, what an awesome gift one of these experiences would be to give to someone who “has it all!”
